Stupidly, I didn't take a photo before I let it go. Any ideas on what they could be? The other interesting thing is we found the snake because of the noise it was making as it slithered across our tiled floor. It was such a loud hissing noise like a split in a hose. |

The snake is an intermediate host for the worm to grow, they get the worm larvae by eating the frogs etc. They pass the eggs which can be passed on to other animals. Also if the snake gets eaten say by a cat, it can be passed on then too. Generally the worms are removed manually by making an incision in the skin and extracting them and also by giving a tapewormer such as Droncit (praziquantel) which will kill any remaning larvae/eggs that are in the snakes system.

Generally it can be given in food, either by making a hole in the mouse and putting the tablet in it. For smaller doses I generally crush the tablet up to a powder and mix it with 1ml or 10ml of water, depending on how much you need to give out. That way you can get smaller doses more acurate. You can also tube the snake and administer it that way but I would not be advising that unless you are experienced at tubing them
HTH, Let me know if you need more help Krusty.
