Pure diamonds come in a few colour forms and a yellow or high yellow one isn't a rare thing and certainly haven't been crossed with jungles .The further South of their distribution area they tend to be more black and white and further North they seem to be more yellow but you get ugly looking brown ones as well throughout their whole distribution area and once you get further north again around the Port Macquarie area you start getting intergrades.
Just because a diamond doesn't have perfect rosettes etc doesn't mean it's not pure, there will always be a little bit of variation.

Just to throw a bit of turmoil in this thread with diamond colours and localities, I have done a few wild diamond rescues (WIRES) with NCHERPS and we have found both high yellow and also "Gosford" type diamonds as well all within the Sydney region. So in there is obviously a lot of variation in colouration in a small area, all the ones we rescued were in the northern beaches area.
Nice diamond MrK, I love them as well.

Finally the end is near. Next Mr K I would suggest not trying to show off your snake as it looks like it may cause a conflict of interest. HAHA
Anyway it would be great if you could gather those contacts, more so if they are like yours or mine as they are very similar. wonderful DIAMONDS and pic was great. Done well.

Nah just kidding. I would have no real idea as I am only a hobbiest.
There are a lot around that look like that.
But when I think of diamonds pythons I do think of a python with diamond shaped markings.
I would love somebody with the techinical and/or background knowledge to add some clearity to this subject thou.
Where do the high yellow animals originate from?
I get the impession they are captive breed.
Before you take me the wrong way - I do like the high yellow diamonds pythons as I have seen a few real stunning ones with smaller nice even markings.
Pretty snake what ever it is.

I have assisted in rescues in Sydney to find out the diamonds were high yellow, so saying that they occur past Gosford is not necesarily true. I have known and seen several high yellow diamonds down here as well as Gosford form. So it is hard to tell exactly where high yellows are truely from.

Here's a pic of some offspring that are the highest yellow diamonds i've ever seen and i had my doubts they were pure diamonds but was assured they are pure diamonds and the parentage was rescued from Sydney South from bushfires. These have white rosettes and as far as i know your typical Gosford diamond has yellow rosettes.

I agree with hugsta, i believe and have seen wild yellow diamonds as low as merimbula which would be one of the southern most areas for diamonds and have seen b&w diamonds in same area. Mind you they werent as high yellow as pics browns just posted they are fn stunners.
