My snakes wont sit still on a computor program so string is the best. By the way, if you dont have a computor...how are you conversing on this site

Looking at that program, it appears that you measure the snake in a series of straight lines. It's not hard to work out that the figure you get would actually be shorter than the real length of the snake.

Hmmmm...maybe thats a good thing. I have bought a few snakes that have apparently shrunk during transit. Most people seem to over estimate snake lengths in my experience.

I measure along the overhang of the kitchen cupboards. Most of our guys will follow a wall and get pretty straight, particularly if they are under an overhang such as your average kitchen cupboard. When the head is at a specific point you make a note of where the tail is and measure the distance.

D'oh! Why the hell didn't I think of string ?!?!
I tried a Microsoft program, it told me my python was 682.37 kilometers long, then the computer crashed.
I'm still looking for an AppleMac program. (that'll work).
Thanks guys, too easy.

But where do you measure it from . Nose to tail or nose to vent.
Of Course String. Yeah I hadn't thought of string either.

Measure it like a fisherman, spread your arms as wide as possible, and poker faced say "its this long"

p.s every snake is twice the length from its middle to either end!

Yeah measure it from the tip of the head to the tip of the tail to get a true measurement!!!Obviously don't measure a shed skin this way as they strectch and you will over estimate............
