Im looking to purchase a mate for my Atherton jungle male. Found one advertised, but the seller says it is 'mission beach' form?
Could anyone enlighten me as to whether these would be a different subspecies or not?
Thanks in advance

cjcolla,
Try to find an Atherton - she will be cheaper and the same locality.
Although only a locality difference - there are some definite size, colour, feeding, temperment differences between highland and lowland jungles,
Cheers

Some people don't consider Athertons to be 'true' Jungles, they are bigger and generally not as bright but still cheynei, the same sub species.

Gee, thanks for answering on my behalf there Boa.
Great to see you have learnt to recognize there are sub-species, (despite the massive dna evidence?). Good to see a newbie progressing, keep up the good work,
Cheers

No Problem!
Lowlands Jungles tend to stronger blacks and deeper golds, Athertons are prone to have brown and white colouration also. Athertons have some nice stripey morphs which look good too. Specimans vary in price accordingly.
Cheers

No problem, you aren't the only one confused by the Jungle locality thing. What has to be remembered is that these localities are only names we have given them, they don't necessarily vary that much from one locale to another.
