This is my young Darwin female "Medusa". Shes about 7 months old. When I first stated looking for a female Darwin to buy steve6610 put me onto a friend of his who had some for sale but he wasnt sure if she (the Seller) had any females left. I contacted her and after a fair amout of discussion and a few emails, the seller said she couldnt sell me one because she couldnt guarantee the the snake was a female and she knew I specifically wanted only a female.
About a month later I came accross another female for sale and bought her. The seller of this female told me he had bought her thinking she was a he. He found out when he had the snake sex tested and only wanted a male and so the snake was now surplus to his needs. He then told me that he had bought the snake from the same person that steve6610 had put me onto originally.
So thanks steve6610 for putting me onto your friend as I bought a beautiful snake from her, just in a round about way.

hi tourett,
thanks for the kind words, i'm glad to have helped you,
even if it was the long way round, i have a pretty good idea who
you got her from, ( not the breeder ), i remember him saying it was
the wrong sex, but the main thing is that you are happy with them both,
i also ended up getting 2 females from my friend, i have since bought
a male from URS and the 3 of them are great, i have one female
that is a bit slow at eating, but the other 2 are really growing, i have pics
in my album if you want to have a look, i've called the 2 females sally and sheila
the male is called sam, i'm almost certain that the parents of your girl and my 2 girls
are going to be parents again this year,
and to anybody chasing nice darwins you won't be dissapointed
if you got some from my friend,
go the darwins.........
cheers,
steve..........

If you handle them to much it may be why they are fussy feeders as at that age they should be ravenous. Over handling WILL stress your animals, what ever anyone says, simple as that. Im not saying you are but just from what you have posted I get that impression. Try leaving them alone for a while and I think you will find that they will start feeding better.

Hello Tourett,
Lovely snakes you got especially the boy. Just out of interest, is there a minimum time limit that must pass before you sell a reptile under the QLD license system? I think it is 6 months from memory here in NSW. Just wondering cause of the time line you described in your first post.
Cheers.

| i've seen and held both parents and they are full darwins, i'm not sure
if you have ever seen young darwins, but if you had, you wouldn't
have to ask that question, i've owned both hatchling bredi's and darwins
and they don't look the same, Quote:

| yes it is also 6 months in qld, but you can get
permision to sell early, i bought bearded dragons
and they turned out the wrong sex and was granted
permision to sell the extra males,
cheers,
steve...........
