Thanks for the update, I'll be staying tuned!

Well I woke today to find my spotted with pieces of skin hanging off everywhere, her skin had become so dry that it was literraly peeling off. So I grabbed a warm container full of water and preceded to start removing the skin, 30 minutes later she was completely free of her old skin, when it came to her head I worked extremely slowly and made sure that both spectacles were removed. Even though the spectacles are better than what they were, the removing of the old ones never fixed the crinkling of the new ones, I don't know if they will get better themselves or not but I definately removed both spectacles. I haven't attempted to feed her yet, I am going to wait until tomorrow to give her a chance to get over the stress of me having to remove her skin.
I think I may end up taking her to the vet anyway just so that he can see the spectacles and see if he thinks they will get better. At least now she looks 100 times better than what she did, apart from the spectacles that is.
Cheers.

Does it look like it affects her vision or does she appear to have good sight from that eye now that she has shed. Keep us informed of what the vet says if you take her there.
I hope all turns out for the better and not like Sdajis unforunate anlimals.

Well I tried feeding her today and she ate!! What a relief, one eye is now completely normal and the other is no longer crinkled but still a bit cloudy. I am a very happy man today!
Cheers.

Hugsta: I doubt you could tell if the vision was affected from the way it was acting. I had a snake hatch out with no eyes (due to incubation temps) and from the way it acted you couldn't tell anything was wrong.

| No worries, thanks for that sdaji, I didn't know if you would be able to tell or not.
Good stuff SW, glad to see that your snake is on its way to recovery.

JUST A GUESS ! |

This last shed was not like a normal shed, her skin went severely dry to the point in which it started peeling off, I had to manually remove the whole skin, I also removed the spectacles and they both definately came off. As far as I can tell there is no problem with humidity and besides there is always a bowl of water in the enclosure and if the snake needed too it could soak itself to get moisture into its skin.

The only thing that I can think of is that the female coastal caught something from outside of my house when I had her out on the grass and then she brought it into the house where the spotted contracted it. The only weird thing is that my male coastal never even so much as looked like going off of his food or having any problems at all, I actually started to think that it may have been something that only a female snake could catch, even though that seems highly unlikely. But all in all I am just so happy that whatever it was has finally gone.
Cheers and thanks again.
