Hi All,
I'm looking at purchasing a Murray Darling hatchling early next year (too many committments this year - getting married in October woohoo ) but don't want to buy from a pet shop.
Could anyone recommend a breeder (preferably in Victoria) that will be breeding this year with hatchies available around Jan to Feb next year.
Anyone have any ideas as to what type of price I should be paying - I think my local pet shop has a rather large price on all of their reptiles!!!

MDs range between $150- $250 for hatchies. Any more than that is over priced. Sorry, I can't help you out with any Vic breeders. I'm sure someone one here will be able to help.

I thought that pet shops were only allowed to sell the Anatersia family (commonly the spotted, childrens and sometimes stimsons) Or maybe that's only in Queensland?

I don't think there are too many restrictions on pet shops in VIC - we have a large variety of breeds available

Pails for Scales should have them at that time of year. I got one off him last year and is a beautiful snake. Look to pay around the $200 mark. Is a bit of a drive from Officer but worth it for a good MD.

Hsut77 - thanks I know Pails for Scales - I am going to take a trip up there - maybe stay the weekend or something - my fiance hasn't been to Ballarat so we could always make a weekend of it. Have you got a pic of your MD from Pails?
