Some snakes are just like that mate.
But it could be a number of things...
If its just a snappy snake, i dont think there is much you can do, but if the snake is hungry and thinks your hand is food, thats a different story.... Just make sure its not hungry before handling

How old and what size is your carpet? Also what are you feeding it?
Bill.

Make yourself a hook and get some 'reptihand' antibacterial stuff. Use the hook to get it out of the tank (some snakes are just defencive when being picked up but settle down when out), and the ethanol smell of the handwash may stop any thoughts of food the snake is having when you're handling. If he's just being agro and not hungry, check that it feels secure in its tank (plenty of hides, fake plants, etc, so it can move around and feel safe) and has a decent thermal gradient, then go with Geklors advice and handle it regularly.

So far today you have posted 3 threads all asking the same thing... The answers in each will be the same, If you want more information expand the thread you started instead of beginning a new thread...

In the last thread you said you only just got it. You need to give full information for the advice to be relevant.

Also make sure the snake is in a suitable situation to be handled.. I mean if it's hiding or sleeping or something and you just grab it then it will react with biting as a defense. Wait till it is in the open on the floor, don't try and drag it out of it's hide or off things because it will make it bite and stressful, gently touch the snake on it's body (Not the head or tail) to let it know you are there.

Then once it's aware you are there you can gently slide your hand underneath it and lift it up, don't grab hold of it cause they don't like that just support it. Also make sure you stay relaxed while handling, if you make sudden movements it'll prob freak the snake out. But if you have just newly got it you should probably leave him alone for a few days to settle.

Well this is just what i have learnt from my own snake lol anyone can correct me if need be.

Use some pliers and pull its teeth out, seems to work ok for the monks overseas who use reptiles for photographic "hands on " experiences.....
make sure its not hungry, use a hook, handle it regulary, even if its not for a great deal of time to begin with, build up as you go. Make sure its definately awake befor you put your hand/hook in to grab it. One of my pythons gets narky if I go to grab him coiled up, if he's awake no probs what so ever.
I am pretty new to keeping herps, these are things that Ive found out with my own herps in my own time, by no meansan expert in anyway.

SERIOUSLY:
KrazedBoarder, let the poor little fella settle in for a few days/week before you try to handle him. He's gonna be a bit snappy for a while, but if you let him settle, then perservere with him, you may find you get along fine. Give him a chance.
