My first bite, I'm so proud! ^_^

Hey all, I didn't think this would happen, as i keep a placid little diamond girl, but i've been looking after a hatchling blonde mac spotted python for a friend for a month and a half now. She's a bit more agro, but has been getting much better, and hasn't struck at anyone in over a month. That was why it came as such a surprise tonight when she was around my wrist, lunged at my brother, found he was too far off, so went for my thumb!
Its my first ever python bite, and even though its teeny, I feel so proud^_^. Step 1 on my way to hardening up
As expected, Pics or it didn't happen, so even though the tiny blood dots are gone, you can see the irritated lumps where her tiny snakey teeth penetrated my soft supple hands
Pics of the culprit tomorrow, I put her away because the poor girl must have been a tad stressed
She did leave an annoying itch though...

I love a good bite every now and then to wake me up.
That's nothing, wait for a year or two then you'll know about it.

The irritating itch you experienced is what I have been told from the saliva of the said snake. Pyhtons have a residual amount of flesh degenerative derivates in their saliva to assist with the breaking down of their food items. Luckily the amount imparted from a bite is not enough to cause any problems. Ingestion of course is a completely different matter!!!

I know, i wasn't expecting her to leave a mark at all. Its funny too, because she never lunges at her food, she's so lazy and just opens her mouth for me to drop a fuzzie in
I'm keeping a Stimmie as well, who's a month older, yet the maccie is about a third larger, even though they're both being fed exactly the same. Any guesses as to why that might be?

I spend most of my days with my hands in water so i have old wrinkly hands. Maybe i should listen to the Girlfriend and put some moisturising cream on. He he.
