Just been readng through all your previous posts Stimmoboy - It's been really helpful because I'm getting my first Stimmo (Broome locality) early next year. It's been great follow you finding out all the relevant info, because you are asking all the questions that I am worrying about! Good luck with your next snake and I look forward to posting some pics of our new hatcho in Jan/Feb.

1. Just look up the caresheet for Darwin carpets. Though I think around 30 - 33 C is good for carpets under the basking light (Someone correct me if I'm wrong)
2. High, as carpets are aboreal
3. Just a heat lamp IMO. Heat mats are on the ground where the snake isn't. I'd out a hot globe/ceramic heat emitter pointing down onto a branch. Python will curl up under it.
4. Sorry, not sure
5. Same. Not sure, sorry.

http://www.aussiepythons.com/wiki/index.php/Care_Sheets - there are a few carpet caresheets there.
