Ok, my MD is starting to shed. His eyes have gone slightly milky and he stayed in his hide all day. He also didn't take his mouse tonight. So what is the process that will follow? How long before he sheds? What sheds first, and how does he do it?
Thx

It should take about a week from now, could be more could be less. Keep the humidity up and you'll find out pretty soon
He'll start from the lips and work his way down to the tail, the sloughed skin will be inside out.

Ok, I just want to make sure he is only starting his shed cycle and not sick. Is it normal for snakes to not eat when they have started their shed cycle? His eyes are not fully milky, but his skin seems really saggy around his neck. Looks like he has spare skin to fill into. It would be about 5 weeks since he last shed I believe. His eyes seemed to have gone a bit clearer than they were yesterday. They don't seem as milky.

some snakes will eat when they are going to shed and some wont, nothing to stress over just wait till he sheds and then give it a feed.

Put some water under your heat lamp ( I generally have a flat rock there and spray it). This will greatly raise the humidity level for about an hour and assist the shed.

I got the humidity really high a couple of nights ago when my big carpet was about to slough, the humidity helped her get the whole thing off in one piece, it was 3.9metres long!
