My new olive :)

Hey there. My new olive arrives in a few weeks. Yay. Got a 7ft long X 3ft deep X 5ft enclosure in the making and will be done soon. Haha, poor mother. When she agreed to let me get into snakes, she thought I'd be happy with a Stimsons or Spotted. I think she's realized this python is going to be just a little bit bigger than those when she realized how big the tank I had on order was. haha. Tough luck =D

How long does it generally take them to be fully grown?

You're going to have your hands full Jess. Is it a hatchling?

The Olive; SouthernXReptiles
The Enclosure; A pet shop where my close mate works. Hence why I can get a custom tank of that size so cheap

Surely is. Had to wait for it to hatch, now waiting for it to get on a proper eating schedule. Then it's all mine

Lol! I'm not putting it in that giant enclosure right away naturally. That would be silly. Waiting until it's of adequete size. But if I get it made now, it's easier on me since the guy who makes the enclosures it moving to Sydney in a few month's time.

You think a fully grown Olive would be happy in that size enclosure?
I surely will I love custom mades, you can have it done exactly how you want. I even drew a picture for my mate to show the builder.

I'm happy with a normal Olive Stunning, stunning snakes. Even mother thinks they are "kinda pretty" and she's so afraid of anything that slithers. Took me three months to convince her to allow me to have a snake. I told her I'd get a small Stimsons. Haha. How things changed.

Cool, make your you post some pics when you get it. IMO the enclosure would be fine for an average size olive.
How quick it grows will depend alot on how much you feed it but apart from that i dont know. They keep growing slowly until they die.

Does your mum know it has the potential to get over 4m?

Haha yes. I broke the news to her earlier. She knows now. A little shocked but says at least it's a good discussion topic for visitors.
