I just wanted to let you all know my scrubbie hatchie has now shed, and a big thankyou to everyone who helped me during that time, esp. Instar and Ramsayi for their advice, which I tried and worked a dream. (under thread 'is it his pet')
I soaked him for half an hour, and then put him in a moist co**** calico bag, on top of a hot water bottle, with a probe thermometer for monitoring his heat. After 20 mins, I took him out, and his skin was loose. I popped him back into the lukewarm water, and hung the calico bag over the side of the container and he proceeded to rub himself on that, and with a little help, the whole skin managed to come off in one piece.
He is heaps happier now, and much more active again. And, looks incredible. I'll post some pics of him up soon.
Thanks again everyone for all your help, support and suggestions. Without it, my scrubbie would have remained unhappy.
THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU

What a huge relief, thanks to all who helped with their suggestions in the previous threads I have posted about him. He ate a juvenille mouse last night, and I'm very happy. I think it's the beginning of the scrub appetite!
Thanks so much everyone |
