hooray i finally work out how send a question.i have a 10-12 foot carpet python that i have had for 11 years &all of a sudden it won't eat. i have never had a problem before. i have even put it in different tank that is a bit smaller to try and get it interested.i have tried live food and dead & she is still not interested. she also has a small area on her back that looks a bit like scale rot.i have been bathing her in reptile rinse & that seems to be helping. can you suggest anything else i can try to help to get her to feed? she hasen't eaten for about four months know. she has never gone this long before without eating? |

Tried different types of food too ? like mice / rats/ poultry etc .
For the spot on her back , if it's rot check the ventral scales too
Rot starts there most of the time and get the snake to a vet if not sure.
Goodluck , Tom

I would have thought 4 months wouldn't be an issue with a carpet of that size.
Best to seek a vets advice IMO.

Some snakes choose themselves to hibernate even if they are still kept on heat. I do think that a vet would be the better option.
