| | | water python love em i own a pair of adult waters, my male is the most placid snake i own ive had him from a hatchling, and the female is a absolute bitch bites and holds on for age's, but i bought her a few months ago as a adult, i hope to breed them this year (fingers crossed) |

Cant get close to him without being bitten numerous times. Very active pythons and great to watch. Have seen some very tame waters, guess it just depends on the individual. |

Every single water python i have held has hated me. Even the ones that are really placid and never ever bitten anybody, as soon as i hold them they turn nasty. They seem to like emptying their bowels on me and then trying to bite. I hate water pythons.

But.. if you feed them heaps, by the time they are 6-7' they settle right down.
IMO, most people underfeed them. This is a python that will reach adulthood in 18 months in the wild in favourable conditions. I have only one water python now  and he was a poor feeder for nearly two years and not a nice snake to be around. Now that he's feeding well, he's settling right down.
Krissy, be aware wih your adults that their natural body shape is a lot heftier than that of a carpet python. Even wild water pythons are quite stocky. Feed them up in the off season and she'll reward you with large clutches.
