1. You are less than 100% healthy.
2. You free-handle a dangerously venomous snake in a hazardous manner and get envenomated.
3. You wonder why some people question your decision making process.
I think your wife is making a fairly wise choice for you. |

As said before accidents happen, things change etc. I recently gave up keeping vens after doing so for 12yrs I never suffered a bite but gave up for family reasons. So I know how hard it is but I think the right decision is to move him on. Cheers Shayne. |

I think this is prob a bad place to discuss this in some ways simply because ppl here are going to say screw your wife keep the snake (I know not all but most of us are often rooting for the snake)
When you married your wife you agreed to take her and her thoughts and opinions into consideration.
having an argument over keeping pythons is very different to arguing over keeping elapids. I think you need to sit down with your wife and include a list of pros and cons over keeping the snake and discuss ways to reduce risks. The fact that she has let you keep them in the hopuse already says a lot about her and her love for you I think. I can see arguments for both sides and i dont want to influence you either way i am just encoraging you and others on here to consider the other halfs side of the argument.
Good luck!!

Due to the unexpected secondary reaction after the bite, I think she has a more than valid point. In any case, she didnt insist I sell Otis - basically just stated that she would feel a little less worried if I stuck to non venomous pythons. My wife and I are a team, no one is under the thumb. |

Ah... i guess what they say is true... sometimes the truth hurts
I have had a great time debating with you on this "Feel Sorry For Me Thread" it's just a bit of a shame that you didn't have anything with a bit more intellectual substance contribute. It would have been a lot more interesting I am sure if you could have debated on the actual topics at hand rather than the intentions of a

| | | | Why don't you just keep the bloody thing and STOP handling it!
EASY!
SOLVED!
( note: I diden't read all 8356394865385 posts )
So get rid of the RBB or keep it and stop freehandling it so the wife can sleep at night.

If your misses doesn't feel right with it in her place then i suppose its a family decision and a red bellied black snake isn't going to bring you your breakfast in bed so at the end of the day (have you got any friends next door that will have it under there roof in your care) ha ha
dont pass the snake catching its great fun just don't try and tail a corner'd snake with out a hook or put your self in its strike range.
cheers steve |
