Neil Sonnemann - Breeder Extraordinaire!

Have a look at this little beauty! I heard a few years back that Neil was keen on the SA Womas, and that he thought they were underated due to the fact that most in captivity were ugly specimens. He had faith in them and got a few lines going and it seems he's on a winner...

That is a very nice woma.
It would be nice to see it as it matures.
Cheers
Adam.

My SA Womas were bred by Neil Sonnemann and I’ve read a lot of his very useful articles in Monitor and Reptiles Australia (one just happens to be titled “Captive Breeding of the South Australian Woma Python”).

That indeed is a very nice looking Woma. There are actually a lot of very nice SA Womas I’ve seen and I actually like them due to their very reduced patterns as they tend to grow older. I have a feeling my female will be turn out like this (she’s just over 6 months but already getting VERY light and even lighter with each shed). The male I can’t tell yet as he has barely started to break up and is as dark as the day I got him. I’ll try and take a decent picture of her and hopefully you get the idea (I’ll show a before and after shot).

But yeah, hopefully the reputation of SA Womas being the ugly ducklings starts to decline as more of the above animals surface in captivity (Thanks Mr Sonnemann)

beautiful specimen. suprisingly its at a fairly low price for a woma, especially one that looks like that.
would love to get a hold of some myself.....if only NSW didnt have them on a class 2.
cheers, ian

Right on, right on! All Womas are awesome. I want them all

I know these aren’t the best pics and they really don’t show how light she actually is and has gotten. But hopefully you get the idea (she as a December ’06 hatchie). I’m not going to pretend to know anything too much about snakes, patterns and/or morphs etc, but I’m pretty sure she’s going to end up very light. What I do now is that her parents here basically pattern less.

Close-up.

After

And here’s a link to the pics I posted the other day:

P.S.- Yes I am going to stop posting pics of my Womas now
