Hey guys...just thought that I would share with you my new pair of Jungle Carpet Pythons! Hope you guys like! Give me your thoughts and stuff! I named them Maka (Mah-kah) and Laka (Lah-kah) they are Hawaiian names. Maka means favorite one, and Laka means Gentle one.

Here is Laka (Female)

And Maka (male)

Great looking snakes, Laka doesn't look like she deserves her name though

Haha VERY true!! She's got a HUGE attitude problem! They were hatched on 6-2 so they're fairly new. I'm their first home, and the first person that's ever handled them. So I'm paying for it! They're great though!!

Yes, they are black and white with a little yellow blushing around the white pattern. They have only had one shed since they hatched.

Jungles gain their color with growth, right?

Yeah...Laka isn't tame at all. She is worse than the GTP's that I used to own. I have a Coastal CP and she is striky in the enclosure, but if you get her out, she's fine. Laka and Maka are horrible biters! I get them out with gloves, because its just a repetitive bite. "bam..bam...bam" over and over. She even tries to knock herself out whenever I'm moving around in the room. You can hear her little nose hitting the glass sides. I'm sure they'll calm down.

Anyone that has had, or presently own JCP's have any advice for me?

i have not really owned mine long enough to offer much advice but i would have just thought that regular handling after given time to settle in would be the best........how long have you had them for? mine is getting calmer and calmer and about 50% of the time i dont get bitten anymore and its been about 2 months or so since i got him.....

I got my pair for a trade. They would go for about $300-800 depending on what lineage you get them from.

I've had them for about 7 days now. Not very long at all. I've had each of them out once, yesterday I held Maka, and today Laka. Maka stopped striking after a while, and I took off the gloves and only got bit once. Laka didn't stop striking. Every movement she thought was going to kill her or something. She ended up wrapping herself around one of my fingers so tightly that I could feel my heart beat in it! haha. She just kept squeezing tighter and tighter. Cute little guys
