You must of had heaps of fun - that's amazing seeing all those snakes - I'm with Peter, I'd move there in a second if my wife 'd let me.

Alexr it was in the middle of the bushwalk track, and my friend was about to step on it. His foot was 30 ch above the snake when I pushed him. He lost a balanc and fall in to the bushes, but I am sure that my push saved his life. We were in the middle of nowere. Nearest hospital 4.5 hours by forwheel drive.
Adders don't moove much, just blowing the body like bluetang lizards to scare you a way. I had to take branch and push him out from bushtrack, becaose there was other campers in this place.

Wow Mr Slateman. Cool story - Was he grateful?

I often wonder when I am wandering though the bush just how many herps you have just miss seeing - or even stepping on etc.

Yes, i agree.... why?
I believe it's the influence from the inland carpets; IMO
The closer you get to the Cape; the Cape York carpets,
tend to have more orange; and can appear very similar to Darwins....
