He looks very different to the bts that i saw out herping one night. but that was just a normal Townsville locality one. Yours is a great looking little lad. (so was the one or two i saw but they didn't have such pronounced stripes).

He's a sub-adult, around 3.5' long. The "normal" night tigers have no trouble reaching 5', but from all I've seen of the Katherines, they seem to max out quite smaller, & noticably more slender. We've had a female on order for around 12mths, but the new one we're getting is another male, so we're STILL waiting! As no-one seems to be having any luck with a captive breeding program to date (according to our info at least) it means that all the Candy Canes are wild caught, & this means waiting for whatever happens to come along on the legal market. When we finally manage to crack it for a female, we definitely intend to have a go at breeding them. Fingers crossed! Most of the colubrids seem to be quite hard to get onto rodents, the majority preferring fish in captivity. Tigger had fed successfully on mice once before we got him, & he obviously enjoyed it, as he's never refused a feed for us to date. That said, our other colubrids, past & present wont even consider them.
