Well feeling a bit down so thought i would get online and have a whinge...
Due to circumstances beyond my control I have been placed in emergency accomodation. To top this off I was politely told I could not keep any of my pets. 3 Dogs a cockatoo and a cat. I thought atleast I could bring my snakes, but no..... I had to leave them all behind. I am heart broken, after all what damage could a snake do to a house. Thankfully the fauna permits unit has granted me permission to keep my snakes at my sisters house, until I am in a position to get a house where I can keep them. I am obviously still upset that I can't have them here with me but at least I did not have to sell them. Which I originally thought I would have to do.

Did you end up selling the cockatoo, cat and dogs? That must have been very hard. Couldnt your family take any? Good news about the snakes though, at least you didnt have to sell them! Good luck!

That's terrible - i have two dogs, two cats, a bird and our snake (bredli) and would hate to be separated from them!  Hope everything works out ok

Thankfully my ex boyfriend and I are still mates and he has taken my other pets until I can get them back. I am actually quite lucky as my sister likes the snakes, the rest of my family hate animals and refused to help.

I can't say that my mum or my partners mum like snakes - but i could always rely on them to take my dogs, cats and birds - even though they have heaps of animals already!

just think of how much worse it couldve been,.!
(still a pain in the butt, but not devastating)

thanks guys, for all the kind replies... i am hoping this will be sorted soon. i am old enough to deal with issues like this but my kids are distraught especially my 8 year old daughter as 1 of the snakes was a birthday present for her only a week before we were told. She is heart broken.
