it's a protein and fat filled egg enclosed in a calcium rich shell ("don't ask"  ) No, it's not a chicken egg, no, it's not the childreni egg Magpie is talking about (incidentally, the picture was taken before that egg came out of the snake).
krusty: it took about a sixteenth of a second, I haven't tried offering more than one egg in one feed.
