Just use paper under the gravel. Like you said it is a feature and it does look great!!!! I would feed out of the enclosure as if a pebble is swolled it may cause a blockage in the snake and could be costly or fatal. Aside from that, they are great pics and thanx for sharing!!!!

nice snake but i would be feeding it a bit larger food items one pinky is much for it try weaner rats that should give her bit more to grow

I have two of these left and then we go up a size.

How do snakes ever survive in the wild??

alot dont, some hatch weak, some die over the winter, get eaten by other snakes etc

Ambree, if newspaper looks too dodgy, you could try brown wrapping paper or plain rolls of "butcher's paper". You can get 6m rolls for about 5 bucks from art supply shops. More expensive than newspaper, but I find it looks better and sits better on the floor of the enclosure(the snakes don't disappear under the paper all the time). The droppings are more visible on plain paper as well - easier to keep clean.

Or you could stick with the gravel. It shoucl be fine if it's kept clean.

nice snake the gravel is fine if anything i would feed in a seperate container till she is a little bigger
