Olives bathing?

I just fed my two juvenile olives day old chickens (freshly dispatched bantams). Both consumed their feed and have since curled up in their water bowls. I have never seen them do this before. What could have triggered this? If one had done it I probably wouldn't have started this thread, but for them to simultaneously take a bath I thought it was unusual. They have only ever had rats and mice whilst in my possession prior to this. The female has been a hopeless eater and is considerably smaller than the male hence the trial of chickens. She responded immediately which made me very happy. The temp gradient in the cage is 24 - 31 degrees C.

Any Thoughts?

I had a young coastal do this a couple of times after a slightly larger than usual meal (maybe takes the weight off???).
Might not be what yours are doing (both at the same time too) but food for thought!

My 21 month old diamond did the same thing 6 weeks ago....In my case I increased the food size and thats when i noticed he started laying in his water for a couple of hours after a feed however he only did it for 3 feeds and has since stopped.
I think gsxrboy might be onto something with the whole weight transferal after a feed.

All of my pythons will have a dip when I give them a bigger than normal feed.

Very interesting and thanks for the responses. I guess the chicks would have been the largest meal they have consumed to date so it makes sense. They were only in the water for an hour and a half.
