Question Opinions on chicken eggs for pythons!

Hey all,
Just wanting a few opinions, or, if anyone has ever tried feeding there captive pythons chicken eggs? I know some species eat them in the wild but has anyone ever tried feeding one to their captive snake?, and if so is it safe to do so? Might seem strange to some of you as most pythons usually eat warm blooded prey! But hey, im just interested to know if anyone has???

the trick is to warm them up a bit, (as eggs are naturally warm from the mother bird). then they'll eat them and spew up the shell...

all depends how fussy the snake is though..

yeah it is quite an interesting topic, dont seem to hear much about, when it comes to warming i spose a microwave wouldnt be the best i dea(lol), so i spose warm water or the like would do the trick.

Daimonddan, did the egg that you put in have the scent of the chicken? Or just from supermarket?

i have tried it a few times but they never ate them. strange how my grandmother used to tell stories about snakes eating their chook eggs, more likely they were after chicks or rodents in my opinion

aussie pythons rarely eat eggs, most peoplethat keep chooks and think pythons are stealing their eggs are often mistaken as its nomally monitors that are to blame.

I've fed chook eggs to my water pythons before, they ate about 3 or 4 each from memory.
5 days later, clear the house!!!!! Ever heard of an eggs fart?.... well imagine it in liquid form.
