i've had a male diamond x intergrade for 6 years. he's about 7ft, healthy and has a great temperament.
ive been overseas for a while and my girlfriend has looked after him very well, although she got worried the other day when someone told her that a common problem with diamonds is, that if they are not transferred to an outside enclosure, many die at around 6-7 years of age!?
now obviously we want the best for him, but i had never heard of this before, and am sceptical about just one person's opinion.
could someone here maybe shed some light on the situation for me.
we have also never properly hibernated him. is this an issue as well? bear in mind it's a diamond-intergrade cross, not a full diamond python.
any help is really appreciated! |

not to sound arrogant, but i'd like to hear from someone who might be able to say more than "i THINK he will be ok".
but like i said, your help is appreciated... the more opinions, the better!! |

This is what i will do with mine when he gets older (currently a baby) but since im not an expert i'll link the article and discussion that i got this idea from. it makes sense as diamonds are from colder regions so it would make sense to keep them in their natural temps which can get very very cold in winter
heres the link My experiences with DPS
