For those interested here are a few pics of my little female patternless childreni.
She is about 6 months old and has been packing on the grams recently....when I got here she was tiny at 14 grams but when last weighed is now just on 50 grams. She is still a little fiesty but is calming down slowly.
One day will hopefully get some babies from her....
Thanks,
Dave

Looks good.
I have a pair of patternless Childreni, and my female is also quite fiesty, and has been a poor feeder. She is now starting to settle down and is also eating much better, and starting to pack the weight on. The Male has always been a good feeder and is much bigger than her. I will have to weigh them to compare them to your girl, although she looks around the same size as my male.

mangles - where abouts did you get yours from?
Thanks everyone else for the nice comments. I really like these snakes for some reason even though they are really quite plain as opposed to some more vibrantly coloured or patterned snakes.

Nice, David :-)
I love patternless childreni.
I've got a female from the same line (possibly same clutch?) who was, at last weighing, 72g. She was a bit hit and miss with food to start, as she's of a particularly nervous disposition, but over the past month I've managed to get some serious food into her.
I've actually got three more coming on the weekend and another one later this year or early next. Great little pythons imho!
Here's my little girl: |

aspidites - she is a great looker that one.....i think i have a soft spot for these as my first snake was one and he is really calm and placid so he was a great first snake to get. I got mine from a breeder in brisbane....same line as the ones junglerob has.
Cheers,
Dave

I got mine from Jungle Rob, and I think Aspidites got hers from him also.
My girl stressed very easily, you just had to look at her and she would rear up and strike, and because of this stress would not eat. In the past I had to leave the food in with her overnight and sometimes she would feed and other times she wouldn't. However, over the past three feeds she has started taking the food straight away when offered, and when I look in her enclosure instead of assuming the strike pose, it is more a "are you going to feed me again" type look.
I don't know if this is a coincidence or not, but this happened when I tried her with pinky rats, instead of fuzzy mice.
Attached are a couple of photos of the girl just after i bought her, so they are a few months old. I have some more recent ones on the computer at home and will try and put them up in the next few days.

Cheers,
Dave | I got some from Prostamo (assuming that's to whom you refer), as well, as some of my first snakes. I only have one the one male from Greg now. He was never completely patternless as Greg paired a patternless female to a lightly patterned male when I bought these and my boy was one of the more normal looking offspring. Quote:

My girl sounds exactly the same as yours, Mangles. Very, very nervous. Coincidentally it was when I moved her onto pink rats that I started to have more "hits" and less "misses" when feeding her.

mangles - mine wont take food from tongs either....it has to be left in there and it is gone in a couple of mins. If i try and dangle it for her she just strikes wildly at it.

Sorry about that, after I sent the post I realised I referred to you as a female, without knowing.
My male has always taken food from the tongs, but only recently for the girl.
