Browns, yeah I agree I should have posted a shot of the mum rather than the baby

Retics have always been my favourite python species and was actually the first species of python I ever kept amazingly. They certainly CAN be bad tempered but that is mostly the fact that years ago they were almost all wild caught, captive bred animals are usually pretty calm and predictable.

a Retic is a group....a name for a number of different snakes in the one family?
or one species?

A Retic is a Reticulated Python, just the one species.

I want a Retic. They are so awesome! I wouldn't want it to get grumpy though.

there are so many colour variations!

so they are not Australian...very huge...eat people...

well not about to on the citizenship list eh!

Joshua, yes they really are an awesome python.

They are not all huge and in fact there are Retics from some localities, those from Jampea Island grow to only a couple of metres in length.

No problem at all, Retics especially are a favourite subject of mine and one the species I miss keeping the most.
