RE: Pinkie Rabbits

Hey diamond, glad to see the pinkies got the little fella eating something other then mice...

like i said last night not one of our animals has turned down a rabbit as a feed even the problem feeders take them without hesitation.

People seem to be catching on to the whole rabbit thing, they are nutritionally better then rats and contain FAR less fat that all means they are better for your snakes.

They have become one of our most popular sale items especially since we have bought in all sizes from pinkie to massive :-)

Take care
Matt

RE: Pinkie Rabbits

The weaner rats shes on are 60/70 gram, but she had a weaner plus a chick 3 days ago and its already digested, shes growing fast now, but a 200 gram wabbit pinkie would really be pushing it yet i think! I carefully weigh her before a meal and the weight of her meal, she was 85grams eraly sep, went without food till oct, a few feeds in oct then went without (volantarily) till nov, i started weaning to rats and it took till late jan to start eating well again, was 110gram in jan and at the 4th march 210grams, going steady now and gaining size, she was quite tiny early sep when i got her.
Shes prolly tripled in length and girth since i got her. Shes my first hatchling, im pretty happy with her progress!

RE: Pinkie Rabbits

Can anyone who has commented so far provide any evidence on a few things that have been stated so far.
"they are 50% cheaper than rats because they breed easier"

"they are nutritionally better then rats and contain FAR less fat"

Rats produce at a faster rate than rabbits. Why are they nutritionally better than rats? Why would a 200G rat have any more fat on it than a 200G rabbit?

RE: Pinkie Rabbits

The only reason that a rabbit would have more muscle than a rat of similar size would be if it was into body building.

RE: Pinkie Rabbits

I've been using pinky rabbits on my 6ft female cape York....she loves them and it doesnt have the fat content of Rats. My big boy Brutus eats full grown rabbits though......Only problem i have found is that when he decides to crap one down your back that you end up with some weird and wonderful colours fur all over you.

Simone.
