Places in/around Brisbane...

Hey, not sure if I'm putting this into the right forum (sorry if i'm not), but I was wondering if anybody knows places in or around Brisbane that sells carpets?

Cheers

You won't find a 'place' in or around Brisbane that sells Carpet Pythons, as they are not on the list of reptiles approved for sale through Queensland pet shops.

Keep an eye on the for sale column here, herptrader and the Trading post, they come up for sale often.

Thanks alot.. Also, one final question... or two..

As far as size go, do some types grow bigger than others? If so, what is the smallest, as I don't have too much space..

Also, temperaments. I've heard many carpets are very snappy and bitey, and I don't think I'd be a fan of copping a hit from a big one, hahaha, so what type/s are pretty placid?

Thanks for any help.

...and every single one can take a piece out of you if you don't handle it correctly.

if your limited to space why not consider a childres or spotted python, the will only grow up to about a meter, and generally have an excellent temper. they are readilly available at shops and breeders so you can really shop around and get yourself a good healthy snake. If not for you i always see carpets for sale in the trading post.

i was told that my water pythons were snappy when i bought them, but they haven't once tried to bite! maybe it just depends on the way im handling them? and make sure you handle them often (eg daily)

i was holding my 2 juvie bredlis in one hand while typing with the other earlier today, and they suddenly started snapping at my typing fingers! hehe maybe they dont like it? didn't get me though, just found it interesting.

Yeah I've already got a spotted. By 'limited to space' I also meant my mum probably wouldn't be keen to get to know a couple of metres worth of python. Any actual buying is way down the track, I just thought I'd ask. Thanks for all your help.
