Seeing the current debate on p'macs/diamonds, what actually IS the diff? They look the same to me, but im a bit inexperienced in that...Imma learning ;-)
P.S he is a nice looking fella/sheila...

Yes me too it gets very vague...I bought and paid for a port mac and have had a vets opinion..
Thats good enough for me although mnay may beg to differ i remain mind unchanged...
Last nights AHS meeting had a talk on port macs...

Rooster thanks for the photos looking at your PMac I still think mines a Diamond well looks like every other Diamond I have seen.
If your all confused then I'm totally lost...lol

a) Location

b) Port macs (generally) are a VERY highly coloured snake, with joined rosettes, (like Mcdowelli) rather than the mainly individual rosettes of the Diamonds.

c) Apparently much more hardy too.

Reptilian,I think it's when Diamond's and Coastel's meet,which is at Port Maquarie.I'm not educated on the issue so someone more experienced might help you.Nice looking snake aswell.

Yes your probably right....I think that who ever said their can be a wide range of variences within a species due to locality was right......
And i am no expert i just happen to have one....

Thanx pugs and peeps...so with the rosettes a diamond should usually be somewhat rounder/simetrical and a PMac the rosettes are somewhat elongated rosettes? I think i understand now...

Ill post a few pics soon of rosettes commonly found on diamonds and rosettes found on port macs.

Of course there are the odd one with differences etc. but you will ge the idea.

Hi folks just a small point about the Port Mac thing.
Mitch & Bill Its where there is a difference in Port Macq intergrade ( Port Macquarie) and a full Diamond (Sydney sandstone basin area) they don't meet or overlap They are unique to there areas
Lived there for many years and have breed both types.
