| | | Hi All,
I got an email earlier in the week from Greg Hollis. Those who have been in the hobby a while will know Greg is one of the few people who breeds true Port mac carpet pythons. Unlike most of the rubbish hybrids going around that people claim are port mac intergrades Gregs are the real deal locale specific carpets from Port Macquaire.
I brought my Port Mac from Greg around 8yrs ago and they remain a favortie in my collection.
Greg is also breeding some RED HOT blonde macs which are the best i've seen around for a quite a while.
Anyone interesrted in buying some true port mac carpets or top blonde macs can contact Greg through his website which is: http://www.freewebs.com/portmacquari...hons/index.htm
This is only a new site which i'm sure Greg will be adding to in the future, at the moment there is a couple of pics of carpets and blondes on the site.
Cheers
Steve. |

My first python was a Port Mac from Greg about 7 years ago and she was the most placid and beautiful python I have owned. Greg is also a great person to deal with and I thoroughly recommend buying from him or Glimmerman if you are after TRUE Port Macs!
Shane

| | | | the pic on that 'given' site was nice... though it had elongation of rosettes which can indicate coastal crossbreeding... Gosford diamonds have that same dominant yellow colours but pure ones usually display more evenly spaced rosettes (almost perfectly spaced and even). I wonder if there may be a hereditary hiccup somewhere in this breeders past? |

| | | | Jessop these are port macquaire carpet pythons from port macquaire they aren't hybrids just a locale of carpet python, they are not diamonds.
If you knew Greg you would know that he lives in the port macquaire region which is where his carpets come from. |

The Port Mac Carpet typically has larger or longer rosettes. They are not a Diamond, but they are their own subspecies IMO....just like a diamond, murray/darling, coastal, jungle, etc... Another locale specific breed of Morelia.

| | | | i guess if it naturally occurred then it has to be of the morelia descent... just seems like a very yellow 85% diamond X 15% coastal to me though... |

| | | | They aren't really a sub species just a locale of carpet python. They look diamondish because they are in the more southern carpet pythons.
Rooster alot of people will tell you that a diamond crossed bred with a carpet python is a port mac intergrade this is not true just rubbish and unfortunatly most people don't have real post mac carpets. |
