Probably a silly question

I know this is a weird question but I was just wondering if snakes go 'on heat' like dogs and cats do.

To a degree yes! but not as noticeable as a dog or cat. It is season related and with help from keepers controllable as well ( also to a degree)

The reason I ask is because I am looking for reasons as to why my diamond python is all of a sudden very active. He is cruising his enclosure constantly and that is really unlike him.

My MD was a little active last night when I handled him, too. But I think that was because I interrupted him in the middle of a bask, not sure.

yeah breedign season will make a snake become active especially a male as he has to go looking for the female.

Yeah, he has been active for a week now. It is like he is searching for something. At first I thought he was looking for food but he ate not too long ago and he doesn't normally search for food. That's what made me think that if it is possible he might be looking for a female.

he might jsut want you to take him out aswell im sure my big girl is telling me she wants to come out. cause i let her out to roam my room most nights. some nights i popen the door and she doens't come out but other nights i walk through the door and she follows me with herr head and then starts squirming around in her cage till i open it then she comes and lays around adn then climbs back into her enclosure when she gets a little cold, but i keep it pretty warm in here anywyas so it can take her a while to go back in.
