I hate the name Port Mac Carpets. You can see arguements in the future with people stating these are only found at Port Macquarie, and all other intergrades are different. Remember, their range is from Coffs to just north of Newcastle.

Why not call them NSW Mid Coast Carpets, as this is a more accurate name that covers the whole range.

Yes,ide go with that bob, thank god some one knows what there on about, its just common sense, thats why they are listed in the books as natural intergrades in NSW.

Yes this is the best idea, the "Port mac" name will only cause dramas like the "Gosford" name does in Diamonds.

BTW, hope Pugsly doesn't mind me using a couple of his photos! Also, these are all pure locale specific Mid Coast Carpets.

why is it always somebody like you that tries to turn every port mac thread into a hybrid debate,

hmmm, good point bob, but don't you call my local pythons "proserpines"
do you know they are found between sarina and cardwal ( not sure of the spelling) maybe we should start calling them central/nth qld coast coastals, i don't live in proserpine and i find prossy coastals at my back door every week, mine are from adults w/c at cardwel, legally........ by rob bredil.................

If you lived in Kempsey you would understand why we call them Port Macquarie carpets. Mid coast? Actually we're classed as Mid-north Coast - name would sound too technical and too long. Port is a pretty place so we want our snakes named after their prettier surrounds.

sweetie its Cardwell (my poor scarlett broke down there lol).....

I wish all locales were more specific.... i still think a lineage chart or something similiar to what is in the dog hobby would be great.... obviously gonna be a pain though.....
