as some of you know, i have a new little stimmie, fed wednesday night, he/she had a full lump (shape of the pinky) still in place yesterday evening. this morning it has disapated some what, sorta spread out, but the last inch of the tale looks DRASTICLY thinner and darker compred to the sudden bulge an inch up! is this normal? the snake is not behaving any different, and im careful not to handle since the feed, any advice? and when CAN i handle again? |

if it is shes probably waiting to be picked up so she can poo on you!
i handle Loki 24-48 hours after a feed,....like when the lumps pretty much gone, if its still there a bit i just avoid touching it.

|  | Regular Member | | | | | the lump hasnt disapeared and reapeard, it kinda spead out like a fat sausage, and finishes abruptly an inch before the tail, making the tail look so small and wrong that it looks like it wants to fall off! (he moves his tail as normal, and isnt acting any different?) this is the first time ive fed a snake! |

if the bulge is soft and on the body side, its poo. it will disappear once hes pooed.
Loki's gets quite full looking sometimes, just above his butt hole.

So they won't deficate at all until they're next meal comes along. I guess this is instinctive wild behaviour due to the irregularity of feeding |

|  | Subscriber | Join Date: Nov-06 Location: Armidale NSW Age: 24 | | | | yeah he's jsut waiting to do a great big bog, my BHP is like it a couple of days after a feed, and can hang onto it for a couple days after, it looks real funny as it it a really drastic change to the tip. i was worried at first when I first saw it...i thought he was constipated, but after a a day or so and a clean of the enclosure everything looks normal.
