Children's Python - Patternless, Caramel

Stimson's Python - Not sure of actual morphs - just a lot of different variations through locales. I have seen a few pics of some WA animals that have a calico patterning...

Spotted Python - Blonde, Platinum - also the Snake Ranch has an Albino but whether this is genetic or a developmental problem is not yet known (last I heard anyway)...

...I probably missed some - but those are the ones off the top of my head. A search of most of those morphs on this site should produce some pictures...

The "blonde/ platinum" python is a locality type, not a morph. In far north Queensland the macs are a bit different... (as are the people) and they have been given the bonde or platinum names, depending where they have come from.

There is also "Piebald" maculosa in existence. Also there is the "cigarette burn scar" stimsoni from WA. I've heard of the "Ghost" stimsoni being talked about.... from what I've seen it's a poorly patterned stimsoni (i'm not sure if it's a genetic mutation).

I'm under the impression that a morph is a heritable genetic mutation, rather than the result of slecting for traits like pattern (or lack of). You can't get albinism by selecting the palest animals and breeding them, then breeding the palest from their offspring and so forth.

Hi Junglec
There is are quite a variable difference in regards to colour, size and over all appearance within the spotted's and stimpsons group of pythons to be found in North Queensland....and yes Nephrurus; most of us Northerner's are quite different ...some people have blonde ambition; others are just brunette's
The term "Platinum" was a name we had given to a rather different form of Mac; mostly due to it's odd colouration, and pattern. Most of these Mac's appear platinum in colour; which often change's as they age into yellowish tones; that is remarkably different to all other northern forms; that tend to be quite light in colour....hence the term "Blondes".... compared to the often brownish Southern forms.
There is also a locality miniature type of Stimpson's python....the biggest i'd ever seen was 32cm's in length.... these are very banded in appearance...cheers

Hi Chris...
These are found in a small local up this way (sorry rather not give a name for oblivious reasons)
Unfortunately i only got a half reasonable camera a few years ago.....and the only other picture i have is of a road kill; so doesn't do them justice.
I believe a friend has a few; so i'll get some pictures for you as soon as i can....sorry i cant be of any help as yet....
From what i have seen; they also tend to be yellowish in colour; often with purplish bands.
With one gravid female i'd seen; you could clearly count five eggs within......
