Whitey, I don't see anything in there about Aspedities being a restricted species.
What do others think?
Cheers,
Rob

Like I said before, my interpretation of the guidelines is that you only need to upgrade your license if you intend on keeping gtps(any number) or vens(any number). I too, have seen nothing that indicates the aspidities species as being restricted.

If you go to page 16 of your guideline booklet it has Aspidites Ramsayi (woma python) on the restricted list , as far as i know it has always been restricted, Aspedites Melanocephalus(bhp) has always been a recreational species .

By Default Aaspidites Ramsayi is restricted beacause they are not classed as common. (By Cites).

junglerob,
i can tell you 100% that they are restricted, they come under the endangered species, and therefore restricted, please check it out, but saying that we can own 2 restricted reptiles,
i know this as i've also just got my paper work to get my restricteds, my friend was told she would lose her baby womas if she bred them on a normal licence,
feel free to not believe me, but i just went through it, unless it has changed in the last month

You should have received an info pack containing the rules and regulation's when you applied for your licence. In the booklet titled "Guidline" it clearly states the woma python as a restricted species.

Im not sure about Bhp's Cites Listing, i will look it up and get back to you....
Steve6610 - Your freind wont Loose her Baby Womas if they Breed, she will simply be asked to upgrade her licence, A lot of things have changed in the last few years and one of them was the introduction of Species specific licences or endorsements you might say, this obviously only applies to Restricted animals, simply if the animal is "Endangered in anyway" it is a Restricted animal, but you can still keep 2 on a normal licence, only needing to upgrade if you breed or want to purchase more.

Well they were wrong in saying that, i would say she spoke with the Epa and not Npws, thats where most of the confusion lies now.
Speak to any NWPS ranger and they will tell you exactly what i have told you....

Thanks for the info guys, I really think they need to make this an obvious point in the guidelines as i think i researched fairly well when getting my licence and did read the guidelines on the epa site, however, was obviously unaware of the woma thing. I wonder how many others have this same issue.
