i got called out to pick up a snake from a backyard in rye this morning.
i was told there was a tiger snake in the garden yesterday and the the alpha male who lives there had hit it with a shovel but it was still alive and they would like me to remove it for them.
lovely place with swimming pools, tennis courts and fine art hanging on the walls etc,,your standard issue million dollar mansion...the hero with the shovel was not there and had left his wife and daughter to deal with this potentially dangerous animal,
me im talking about,
the poor snake was paralised from half way down his body and had no forward or reverse at all.
anyway it was quite sad and i wanted to say a big thank you to peter clancy, the vet in dundas st rye,who allowed me the use of his rooms to examine the extent of the damage..needless to say the snake is no longer with us..
here are the sad pics..sorry about the poor quality

it is really sad to see that some people still have the hit first mentality

Thats horrible, i have found a tree snake like that before. its sad when the only thing you can do is kill them
Nothing gets to me more than ppl who dont kill things properly and leave them to suffer, its even worse when there is probably no reason for it to be killed in the first place.

What a shame, its such a beautiful tiger. I've had a few call-outs like that, makes me so mad to get there and see a snake in that condition.
