snake id plz

hey i saw this bloke near our at 9 at night. hes is aproximatley 40 cm long, very small.
i just wanna know what he is. if anyone could identify him plz reply

G'day mate,

It's definitely a Keelback. Be careful though, they look remarkably similar to the highly venomous Rough Scaled Snake, a species that is known for its fast acting venom and several human fatalities.
