Snake ID plz. Dial up warning

Hello.

Found this snake on the banks of the susan river near Harvery Bay/Maryborough, SE QLD. Im not quite sure what it is. Hope someone can help.

yea id say its a noctunal speices did you find him out on his own or did you pick up the metal thing in the pic its a small eyed snake

Yeah just picked up the sheet of corrogated iron and there it was! Was quite a surprise! It was a really stormy morning, that cover was the only dry place around. thanks everyone, oh and I caught some nice fish that morning too! lol

mostly bream, was fishing for thread fin salmon but the weather didnt help, always next time!

Yep, i know this comment is superfluous, but looked up the headscales (great headscale shot btw) and it definitely looks lyk a small-eyed.
