In total there were four copperheads -one juvy and three sub-adults, and one tigersnake, approx two years old released. They were all removed from around the Mt Martha area, and released at the back dam at Briars Park.
Many thanks to ssssnakeman who kindly let me tag along, and heroically navigated the remains of a dirt road after the torrential rain in his trusty ford, which thinks it is a 4x4. 
So here are a few pics that show the animals, who all seemed very pleased to feel Mother Earth back under their scales, rather than this strange newspaper stuff.
The little juvy copperhead couldn't even wait untill we got near the water, and squirmed happily to freedom and safety under a nice log.
The larger copperheads were on the chilly side since it was early morning, and were happy to sit on the bank soaking up some warmth, which made for a few good pics, altho once they hit the water they all swam off in a great hurry. |
