South Western carpets?

These guys don't seem to get a mention much. What do people think of these carpets? Are they placid or nasty generally? Do they cost much to buy?
Thx

Stiffler,
I will tell you more when I eventually manage to buy some!

Been looking for a while now, so if you know of any for sale, please PM me.

Cheers Neil

there just isn't any of them around. CALM didn't let them to be collected or something so there are very small numbers of them.

And SA to Spencers Gulf. They have an interesting black line running along their belly.

They're pretty much the same as other carpets. I've got 2 and they are probably a bit more placid than the coastals that I've had in the past.

They are only available in WA.

They are avalible in all states.....just a matter of finding them. A year or two ago URS had a few of differents sizes and someone else had a heap for sale, from adult pairs to juvis. That was the first and last time i saw a large amount of them for sale.
I think from memory the adult pairs were selling for around $1500-$1700 and juvis were $400, sub adults were somewhere in between.

A couple of pet shops in Melbourne have them at the moment (which you may be interested in, if unlike me you are able to buy stuff from them). A friend of mine asked me if I was interested in his a couple of days ago, I wasn't so I didn't find anything out about it but if you PM me your details I'll pass them on if he is wanting to sell (and is willing to send them interstate). The ones I've seen have all been tame. They're distinctly different from other carpets but aren't particularly special, or at least I don't find them to be.

Thanks Westaussie !

Are they generally a well mannered species, or are they like most, there are good one's and bad one's.
I have heard that even wild un's are pretty placid and acclimatise to captivity well, is this true in your opinion?

Neil

Also for those who may be interested they can obtain a wa dealers list from CALM and ring around to find the imbricata. Or pm westaussie. Just be prepared for the $ 180 export fee. There are a few available.
