Suppose I wanted to keep spotted pythons in a colony setup, what would be the best way and time to introduce them?
Thanks

I added my female to my male at some random time of the year (I think it was summer time. they are now kept together all year round) and he virtually didn't seem to notice her at all. That is until when it came to breeding I dont think they need to be separated to induce breeding, in some cases you don't even have to cool them down during winter.
So if you plan to have them together all year round just make sure they are about the same size as each other. Mine basically ignore each other. Even when one eats and undoubtedly smells like mice the other one seems to know that it isn't food.

I have a couple of spotteds, 1 originally bought as a male hatchie and turned out as a female and purchased another one as a male about a year later, I put them straight in together as they were roughly the same size and age, haven't bred them yet. I feed them them every sunday (segregated) to keep them happy, I watched them for ages worrying that something would happen but they get along fine and there havent been any problems yet, they've been together for almost 6 months now. I gues it depends on how many you plan on keeping, what size enclosure they're in, how often they're fed etc to the types of problems you may or may not encounture.

some times though both the snakes may look fine while seceretly one practicly is dominating the other and stressing it heaps and in some cases the one being dominated will go off food and can become ill
