It really depends. If i hold onto its food item and give it a jiggle it will do the full role and constrict the meal. But if i let go as soon as it strikes it'll just stuff it in. Pig of a snake!

what's he eating ! looks like a pink rat ! how old is he his very nice! love the shots ! my female childreni doesn't constrict rats but she'll always anstrict the mouse i don't know why ? oh well!
