Strange feeding session

I feed my stmi tonight and it was a bit of a strange session.

I through the first mouse in and she jumped straight on it. I left the room for about 10 minutes and when I came back in she let go turned around and struck but some how ended up bitting herself. let go straight away then after about 5 minutes went back to eating the mouse.

I then through another mouse in and bang she was straight on to it again. Came back about 10 minutes later and she was down to the hip bone of the mouse but appeared to be struggling a closer inspection shoed that the mouses intestine was hanging out of its side and when I lifted the lid it STANK REAL BAD. I did not know what to do. I could not pull the mouse out because it was most of the way in. I left her for about 20 minutes and when I cam back she had managed to get the mouse out and it was sitting on the floor of the cage.

Has anyony had something strange like this happen to them? ie. snake bitting its self or a mouse that had its guts come out?

The snake probably bit itself as it had the scent of the mouse on itself from when it coiled the food.
The guts coming out? Perhaps the way you thawed it had something to do it. I have had this happen if i defrosted it took quick.

If you heat mice etc too quickly at too higher temp they can split open. Not fun it's happened to me.
