Substrates

Just wondering what everyone prefers as a substrate, both for looks and ease of cleaning.

newpaper probably is the easiest, but alot of people want the interior of the enclosure to look as best as it can

Bunninngs outdoor carpet. I have two cuts for every enclosure. Makes it easy to do a change-over and then disinfect the dirty one.

i used to use astro turff intill i seen one case where a snake took a crap and the grass cut the soft red tissue in side if its cloaca while it was pushing it out and it got all infected. the snake lived but not after a few trips to the vet.

now i just use news paper cleaner and easy to get rid of

Its just for me and the kids, but the enclosure is in the lounge room so I would like it to look nice. I was thinking of using sand (or fish tank gravel), but now I think I might try the outdoor carpet.
