I am trying to tame her and get her used to being handled but as soon as she re-enters the enclosure she becomes feral again striking out and coiling back when you go near the glass. Can someone tell me where I am going wrong as she calms down after 10 mins when taken out and is quite pleasant to handle but in the enclosure sh is wild. She is juvinile and bout 2 foot long |

Make sure she has a few hides and branches so she can concentrate on something more than who walks past. If she is striking all the time she may be hungry too
many snakes are cage protective and that is what she is doing. remember they are not a toy

regards,
Nat

Its part of their nature and what makes jungles what they are. People that get jungles for their pretty colours need to know that they are more than likely going to get bitten, quite often for that matter and it will hurt. They have longer teeth than most of the other pythons so with all this in mind, enjoy your first jungle
Something to look forward too. This ones around 3 years |

and i can see where your coming from about a tame jungle putting the line to shame, but id still like my jungle to tag me less than 5 times everytime i get him out..... haha

klit69 ( interesting name) what I would suggest is to provide a few hides for your jungle to retreat to so that it's not bothered so much by you coming near its enclosure. Just enjoy them for what they are is the best advice. |

and since ive been handling them less they have actually calmed i dont even worry about being tagged when i change there water over anymore
i can usually (on a good day ) not get tagged at all till i try and put them back into there cages and they are not jumpy and dont try and constrict me anymore
however when i was handling more say once or twice a day they were alot worse then they are now
