Regular handling should do the trick. I don't think there's any other way to be honest. Make sure you have plenty of bandaids.

lol I don't know too many nice adult waters (there is a handfull) but more times then not there agro. Regular handling once they have settled in and keep there food up, other than that just hope for the best.

Well that's not really what this sounds like is it, reason for my reply. But der I'm sure you'll figure it out . I guess that's why they call them water pythons

Water Pythons like to get wet, or take swims for long periods of time. Try getting something big enough that they can get into it and have a dip without the water spilling all over the place. You will find they will swim when they want and their enclosure can still stay relatively dry!
As far as taming goes, I have NT's which are supposed to be more agressive than QLD forms. I never get bit, yet I handle the adults frequently. My hatchlings are fiesty, but if you just pick them up they will relax with you. They are like dogs and can sort of sense hesitation, which leads to them getting all arky and agressive, you need to be strong and confident with them and they will feel it and calm down.

ah ok, was miss reading things (sorry). I wouldn't imagine so in summer (would probably watch it in winter check to see what humidity levels are required for waters, I'm not 100% but being water pythons I can't imagine it would be too much of a worry, they obviously love there water. Maybe use a deeper dish and only fill it up half way, paper towel substrate would also soak a fair bit of it up.

My water pythons don't spend any more time in or near water than my bredli.
The best thing you can do is leave them alone and feed them regularly.
Of the 6 adult water pythons I've owned and maybe 20 that I've seen, only two were aggressive / defensive.

My water only really soaks in the bowl when she's coming up to a shed, although she seems to like getting water all over the bottom of the tank just after i've put clean paper in.

She has only ever bitten twice and both times have been our fault, but because she did I decided to start only feed her in a feeding tub i dont touch her at all for a couple of days before and of course a couple of days after a feed. Also when i'm getting her out to be fed I use a cage hook to get her in and out of the feed tub, just so she doesn't associate being handled with being fed. Since I have been doing this she hasn't bitten at all.
