Temperature

Just wondering if I need heating in my pythons enclosure. Their enclosure at top and bottom is usually 29 - 32 degrees during the day and drops to 24 - 26 degrees during the night. All the books say there should be a 5 degree difference between the ends of enclosure. That being the case should I use a heat lamp at top or heat cord at bottom. Enclosure is about 90 cm wide by 1.4 metres high.

I have 2 matching enclosures. One houses coastals and the other houses jungles.
