Underfeeding??

I noticed that someone had posted about overfeeding and it got me thinking about my snake and whether or not I am underfeeding.
He is a 2.5 year old Diamond python, 1.5m long. He nearly always looks hungry but I have been told that is a common trait for diamonds. He has 1 adult rat every 4 weeks, sometimes 3 weeks. I sometimes give him a med adult, sometimes a large adult. I try to mix things up a little bit to make it a bit more like the wild. What do you think? He looks healthy, has always shed well etc. I was told by the person that I got him off not to feed too often as people often get them too overweight.

I have a 4 year old diamond. She gets an adult rat once a week, sometimes I will make her wait two weeks. I tend to feed her the day after she starts looking for food. Last week she had a really really big rat, which will last her through the brumation period. I've started reducing her light levels and she isn't looking for food.

If he looks healthy he probably is.I usally feed my diamonds every 2-3 weeks, but instead of giving them one big rat i give them two smaller ones as they have a lower fat content than the big adult rat.My diamonds are 7ft + long.As a rule jsut give him something that makes a nice size lump in his belly.

Cheers MatE.
